Game Over Gopher was designed by the Learning Games Lab at New Mexico State University as an engaging Common Core-compliant game to teach basic graphing skills to students. Players defend a prize carrot from hungry space gophers marching hungry towards it by strategically placing tools around a graph; to do this, they must plot two coordinates together to reveal where their enemy’s path leads, uncover rubies buried by enemy digging equipment, dig for diamonds and place upgradeable towers such as pea shooters or water sprayers or even garlic rays (which will freeze gophers when eaten).

Interactive tutorials help learners acquire the skills and conceptual understanding required to advance in the game. Visual cues guide players in plotting coordinate pairs, distinguishing negative from positive coordinates, identifying four quadrants, and placing ruby drills at appropriate x/y coordinates to earn money they can spend on tower upgrades.

Furthermore, this game helps students practice differentiating negative and positive coordinates, providing an excellent way to improve graphing abilities.

The game’s x  and y coordinate tools teach students to plot coordinate pairs and differentiate between negative and positive coordinates. It also introduces four quadrants as learners can place ruby mines that produce currency to build and upgrade towers.

After an erratic offensive performance last time out (hitting three posts, having one goal overturned due to goaltender interference, and another possibly crossing the line but being disregarded), Minnesota must find their scoring groove again quickly to win this game in regulation time if they score three goals or more.

Minnesota will need to play smart and force Quinnipiac’s defensemen out of their zone while applying physicality when possible, taking advantage of their power play – Minnesota is 27-5 when scoring three or more goals, while Quinnipiac is only 1-1-4-1 when conceding that many goals or less.

It would be ideal if the Gophers could find ways to get an advantage in the second period, too; they have been successful when doing this five times since becoming NCAA tournament qualifiers and, when not doing so, have gone 2-6-0-1 in those games.

Game Over Gopher is an easy and entertaining family game for everyone, whether looking for quick entertainment or something longer-term to keep the kids occupied. Each turn, players may uncover up to four cards from the food pile; if two or more identical food types appear consecutively on separate cards, they are all discarded, and play passes to another player. Utilizing an intuitive but challenging plotting system, Game Over Gophers allows the player to click graphs to reveal locations, then try and anticipate where gophers may come from and their path towards their prize carrot prize. You can also place various weapons, such as garlic rays and carrot launchers, onto this path using rubies earned when defeating gophers – as rubies can only be purchased once.

This game also teaches students how to plot points using vertical and horizontal coordinate systems, differentiate negative from positive coordinates, identify four quadrants, and differentiate positive from negative coordinates. Students can play it collaboratively within teams for enhanced teamwork development.

This game’s vivid graphics and catchy soundtrack create an enjoyable gaming experience designed to challenge but not frustrate players with gradual increases in difficulty. Furthermore, its simple controls make it simple for children to pick up and start playing without hassle.
