How to Manage Your Online Data With Modo


Modo was designed with the understanding that its users would come from various disciplines and sectors, demanding versatility. Getting started

Once you install your Modo license, you are given the option of taking advantage of roaming charges that allow for offline work for an arbitrary number of days. This gives you flexibility in working on other systems while staying connected to the license server so as to claim or return roaming licenses when needed.

Your choice to submit usage statistics that can aid the Modo development team is also available, including build number run, system platform information, active/idle time of application as well as graphics card details (which will not be submitted). When agreeing to submit these stats, a notification dialog will appear every time Modo launches.

Your dialog can appear at regular intervals, such as every day or every week. To change this setting, launch the Licensing App and go into its preferences menu (both Windows and macOS offer similar options).

Modo stores its presets, surfaces, and kits on a shared server in the cloud and makes them available through the Preset Browser. To open it up in any layout view, press F6 while working on a Model or Layout idea to access this tool.

Accessing cloud assets is simple with Modo; the system checks to see if an investment in the Preset Browser is newer than one found locally before downloading. Modo also displays an icon for every downloaded asset to identify what has been received quickly.
